Yesterday we had a Free Yard Sale at Countryside. Looking back over the documents we made during planning, I found the vision statement for this event.
Vision: Both physical and spiritual needs will be met. Physical needs are met through clothing and items, and spiritual through prayer and encouragement. Awareness will be raised for upcoming events to be held at the ministry trailer. Members of the community will feel loved and appreciated and will feel the genuine love of Jesus Christ and care from His children.
Man, oh, man did that happen! It is so cool to see your vision happen, then God heaps more on top than you could have “visioned”.
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
We talked with neighbors we had never met and some we have known from Day 1. We prayed with people both from the trailer park and from other parts of Lancaster and even neighboring towns. We introduced people to the ministry site and told them about the events we would hold there. We found out about an elderly man who had no food. God truly opened doors, both to homes and to hearts.
The servants were awesome, too. People jumped right in to help sort, hang, and fold. The clean-up and organization process was continuous. The registration, snack bar, and prayer tables were hoppin’. Patrick manned the toy area and had his hands full. Don’t offer that many kids free toys while their moms shop for free clothes for the family.
We started with 4 trailers and three trucks full of stuff. We ended with one trailer to be donated to another ministry.
God continues to prove himself faithful here. We are so humbled to be allowed to see Him working so obviously in this place. We would like you to be able to take part in this day with us. You can do so by lifting up the following prayer requests that were submitted yesterday at the Yard Sale. I have broken them down so you can pray for a few each day this week. Thank you for your continued support and love you show us!
