“And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’” Matthew 25:40
Jesus Christ, Son of God, willingly assumed human nature in obedience to His Father. Jesus so perfectly identifies himself with us, that He regards that which is done to others as done to Himself. He says so in Matthew 25:40–if you did it to them, you did it to me.
When we give to those in need we are giving to Jesus. We are also giving for Jesus, in His name. We are being His hands and feet.
Therefore, when we give to the hungry and thirsty, His name is satisfied.
When we take in the stranger, His name is recognized.
When we clothe the naked, His name is embraced.
When we treat the sick, His name is strengthened.
Last Saturday, Matthew 25:40 was brought alive in Countryside. Churches gathered from all around Lancaster to host Operation Inasmuch in our neighborhood.
Jesus’ love was displayed for all to see. There was face painting, a bounce house obstacle course, crafts, story & music time, a dance party, landscaping, hot dogs & hamburgers, door-to-door witnessing, placing house numbers, a bookmobile, and picnic table & deck building.
With all the love that was shared, I believe Jesus was pleased.
It was truly a blessing to be loved on so much. From all of Countryside, we say Thank you!
