Alabama {Thursday: Tears & Autographs}

Before the Alabama team arrived, I don’t think they realized they would be signing autographs in Countryside. They didn’t know how famous they would be.

“As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!’” Romans 10:15

These folks have beautiful feet. They have brought the good news and kids have heard.

In the afternoon session we took a break and explained to the kiddos that the Alabama team would be finishing up today. They will be heading back South tomorrow. We encouraged them that if they wanted to get hugs or pictures or talk to anyone, they needed to do it in the last part of the day. Little did we know the fun Countryside kiddos would show their love by going around to each member of the Alabama team to get their autograph.

This was a beautiful picture to me. The reason we get autographs is because we admire the person. We think they are worthy enough to sign our book and we keep it as something special. They have meant something to us.

This youth group has made an impact on these kiddos. I know it because I saw them take the time to go from person to person and ask them to sign their book. What a neat picture God shared with us today.

And the kiddos made an impact on them, too. One sweet girl from the youth group came up to me crying, telling me how much she was going to miss these kids. All day she carried a little one around, hoping to squeeze in every moment she could with her.

Lord, allow this group to go back with softened hearts for sharing your Love.

And in other news, we broke out the bounce house and had some fun. It was more like a slip-n-slide because of all the sweat. Gross.

When I say we have truly been blessed this week, I mean it. Relationships were formed that will allow for open doors for us to carry on sharing with our neighbors. We met a few new families and got to know some familiar ones even better. Kids heard the Gospel daily. He promises His Word will not return void. I can’t wait to see the fruit from all the labor that was put in this week!

To God be the Glory, great things He hath done!
