Months back Grant and I began having some sort of moving in our hearts. We didn’t know what it meant, but we began to talk and pray together about it. After a while it became clear to us. We were to ask The Smith family to join us in ministry.

Jason, Nancy, and their three girls had just sold their home in Lancaster to follow God’s calling. Problem was, they didn’t know that calling yet. It hadn’t been shown to them, but they were certainly seeking. When we approached them they began to pray, and here we are today.

This morning their church, Crestview Baptist, had a commissioning service for them. It was a beautiful picture of a church body sending out their own into the mission field. Grant was privileged to preach part of the service to encourage them as they begin life in Countryside. Their pastor, Scott, preached more encouragement, and I shared some words that were on my heart. It was great to see all the support they have in their journey as the church was full of family and friends of theirs.

We are excited to work together with The Smith’s. We know that God has put us together to impact our neighborhood for His glory. We have already seen how their presence here is going to be great. They have had lots of kiddos visit their house and they have had many conversations with neighbors about God in the short two weeks they have lived here. They are excited to jump right in and serve.

So with this new extension of The Connection ministry, us Hinson’s have a few favors to ask of our dear friends.

  1. Will you please pray for Jason, Nancy, Jaycie, Abby, & Elizabeth as they transition to Countryside? Please pray for them to find balance in life and work and ministry. Pray that they will feel safe. Pray that they will have multiple opportunities to share The Gospel with their neighbors.
  2. Will you go to their blog and follow it? Go to Smithsgotgoodnews.wordpress.com or click here. Show them some love!
  3. Will you pray for our family as we figure out what this all looks like? We have lived here for two and a half years with tons of support from churches, family, and friends, but never direct, side-by-side support. Pray that we all find our roles and are able to be used perfectly by God.

Thank you so much, friends. We are sure God is up to something great and we can’t wait to watch it unfold!
